Designing reminders for expensive misses
The best reminder systems start politely and become more assertive only when silence gets costly.
Not every reminder deserves a phone call. A thoughtful escalation chain starts with the least disruptive channel that can reasonably work, then increases urgency when the owner does not acknowledge.
The pattern is simple: define the owner, choose the first channel, set the wait time, choose the backup path, and stop everything once someone confirms. That gives teams reliability without turning every small task into an alarm.
YBY Bell packages that pattern into templates for client follow-ups, incidents, compliance dates, renewals, and agent completions.
